Rob Kempf Appointed as new Cherry Hill Chief of Police
December 21st, 2021 – Mayor Susan Shin Angulo and Council President David Fleisher are pleased to announce lifelong Cherry Hill resident and 22-year veteran of the Cherry Hill Police Department, Robert Kempf, has been named the next Chief of Police.
Kempf, who holds Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administrations degrees from Rutgers University, will become acting chief effective immediately and will be formally appointed chief by resolution at a Council Meeting in January.
Most recently, Kempf has served as a lieutenant in the professional standards and training department, the Director of Training and Special Operations Group Commander. He joined the Cherry Hill Police Department in November 1998 as a patrol officer, before becoming a detective in the cyber crime unit in 2011. He has also served as a sergeant and lieutenant in the patrol division, as well as a detective sergeant in the investigative division.
